Quincy University Hawks

2026 (Sophomore): Badan started all 21 matches and appeared in 70 sets during his sophomore season, establishing himself as one of the top middle blockers in the GLVC and NCAA. He led the Hawks with a .335 hitting percentage, which ranked second in the GLVC and 21st nationally, while totaling 113 kills, 185.5 points, 13 assists, 25 service aces, and 29 digs.

Defensively, Badan was dominant at the net, leading the team with 75 total blocks, 20 solo blocks, and 55 block assists. His 1.07 blocks per set led the GLVC and ranked 15th in the NCAA. He recorded at least four total blocks in 12 matches, including a season-high eight against Jamestown (3/14/26). Badan also had eight matches with 10 or more points, highlighted by a season-high 10 kills on a .438 hitting percentage against Roosevelt (3/28/26).

2025 (Freshman): Badan made an immediate impact during his first season with the Hawks, appearing in 23 matches and 92 sets. He totaled 148 kills (1.61 per set), 12 assists, 33 digs, and 64 total blocks, ranking third on the team in blocks. He also finished second on the team with 27 service aces and 217 total points.

Badan made his collegiate debut against Roosevelt (1/16/25), recording 10 kills, one assist, four digs, and three blocks. His best offensive performance came against Lindenwood (4/4/25), where he hammered down a season-high 14 kills on just 17 attacks.

Personal: Badan is from Novaky, Slovakia, where he attended Stredna Sportova Skola Banska. Tomas has garnered both academic and athletic recognition, earning the Director's Accolade for Great Scholar Achievements and the Director's Accolade for Great Sports Achievements. He was named Best Middle Blocker in the U18 National Championships Slovakia (2023/24 season) and for the U20 category (2021/23 season). Tomas has represented Slovakia at the national level, playing for the U18 boys' team, achieving European Championships Qualification, and for the U20 team, where they secured 11th place in the European Championships after qualification. 

Tomas is passionate about swimming, reading, and watching sports. His favorite athletes are Dennis Rodman and Anthony Edwards. He is the son of Rudolf Badan and Gabriela Orsulova and has siblings named Matus Badan and Jakub Orsula.
