Personal: Taran Rose is from Melbourne, Australia, and attended Camberwell Grammar School. He is the son of Reshmi Sharma and Andrew Rose and has a brother, Isa. Rose excelled academically, earning recognition on the Victorian Honour Roll for his 12th grade exams, finishing in the top seven percent of the state of Victoria while graduating with a 3.9 GPA.

A multi-sport athlete, Rose served as captain of both the baseball and squash teams at Camberwell Grammar and earned colors in both sports, an honor recognizing high performance and achievement. He represented Australia at the Senior League World Series and represented the state of Victoria at the Australian Youth Baseball National Championship (U18). In addition to baseball and squash, Rose was also a member of the school’s water polo and swim teams. He began playing baseball at the age of seven and also spent time playing soccer growing up.

Outside of athletics, Rose enjoys spending time with family, surfing, exploring open-air markets, cooking, thrifting clothes, playing video games with friends, and going out to eat. His favorite athletes include Corey Seager, Kelly Slater, and Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera. He is a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and also spends time coaching junior baseball back home in Australia.
