2025 (Sophomore at Spoon River CC): Crum continued to produce at a high level in his second season at Spoon River Community College, appearing in 53 games while posting a .345 batting average, .449 on-base percentage, and .456 slugging percentage. He recorded eight doubles, one triple, three home runs, 43 RBIs, 29 walks, four hit by pitches, and stole one base.
Crum finished the season with 14 multi-hit games and put together three separate seven-game hitting streaks. His top performance came against Illinois College (4/15/25), when he recorded the first five-hit game of his career, going 5-for-5 with five singles, three runs scored, and a walk.
2024 (Freshman at Spoon River CC): Crum had a standout freshman season at Spoon River Community College, appearing in 56 games and posting a .344 batting average, .482 on-base percentage, and .465 slugging percentage across 157 at-bats. He recorded nine doubles, two triples, two home runs, 57 RBIs, 29 runs scored, and drew 35 walks.
Crum made his collegiate debut against Arkansas State Mid-South (2/11/24), recording his first career hit, RBI, and walk. His first career home run came in his second collegiate game against Lake Area Academy (2/18/24), where he went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run, and five RBIs. He finished the season with 14 multi-hit games, 12 multi-RBI performances, a season-long eight-game hitting streak, and three additional hitting streaks of six or more games.
Personal: Ryne Crum is a native of Springfield, Illinois, and a graduate of Springfield High School. He is the son of Joby and Kim Crum and has two siblings, Joseph and Brooklyn. Crum spent two seasons at Spoon River Community College before transferring to Quincy.
Crum excelled both academically and athletically, earning the Robert Furry Award for History and Citizenship while also being named NJCAA All-Academic First Team in 2024 and 2025 with a perfect 4.0 GPA. At Springfield High School, he helped lead the Senators to the 2021 Class 3A State Championship, earned CS8 Second Team All-Conference honors in 2021, and was named First Team All-Conference in both 2022 and 2023. He also holds the school’s career batting average record at .428.
At Spoon River, Crum set the program’s single-season RBI record with 57 as a freshman and finished his career with 100 RBIs. Outside of baseball, he enjoys building Legos and playing video games. His favorite athlete is Adam Wainwright, and he is a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
