2025 (Senior): In 115 at-bats, Ortiz hit .200 with three doubles, six home runs, and 20 runs driven in. He had a multi-homer game against Maryville (4/25/25), hitting two solo shots in a 14-inning victory over the Saints.

2024 (Senior): In his second season as a Hawk, Ortiz played in 48 games, making 47 starts, where he was fourth on the team with a .335 batting average and third on the team with a .629 slugging percentage. JD was third on the team with 12 home runs and 55 RBIs.

2023 (Junior): Appeared in 12 games, making six starts for the Hawks in his first season in Quincy, where he hit .182 with one home run and four RBIs.

2022 (Junior at Southern Illinois): Played in 23 games and started eight. Ortiz batted .198 with two home runs, seven hits, and nine RBIs.
2021 (Freshman at Fresno City College): In his second season with the Rams, Ortiz appeared in 20 games, where he drove in eight runs with four doubles and one home run. JD hit .263 and had one stolen base, along with nine runs scored.
2020 (Freshman at Fresno City College): Appeared in all 20 games, where he totaled 71 at-bats and had a slash line of .352/.472/.648. He drove in 17 RBIs and had more walks than strikeouts (16 BB, 13 K).
Personal: J.D. Ortiz hails from Fresno, California. He attended Buchanan High School, where he was on the High Honor Roll and the Dean’s List and received a seal of Biliteracy. Ortiz was also an All-Conference baseball player for the Bears. He attended UC Santa Barbara in 2019, then transferred to Fresno City College, where he was a Pre-Season All-American for the 2021 season. J.D. transferred to Southern Illinois University for the 2022 season before transferring to Quincy. In his free time, Ortiz enjoys cooking. He is the son of Jose and Annie and has four siblings--Katherine, Alex, Miguel, and Anniesa. His favorite athlete is his dad, who played Major League Baseball for the Oakland Athletics and Colorado Rockies, then went on to play professional baseball in Japan for 10 years.
