QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University women's soccer team travels to St. Louis on Wednesday, September 30, for a Great Lakes Valley Conference matchup against the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 PM at Don Dallas Soccer Field.
The Hawks enter the contest with a 4-2-4 overall record and a 4-1-2 mark in GLVC play following a dominant 4-0 victory over William Jewell on Saturday.
UMSL enters Wednesday at 6-1-2 overall and 5-0-1 in conference action after earning a 4-1 victory over Illinois Springfield.
Wednesday's matchup features two teams positioned near the top of the conference standings as Quincy looks to hand the Tritons their first GLVC loss of the season.
Last Time Out
Quincy delivered one of its most complete performances of the season Saturday, defeating William Jewell 4-0 at Legends Stadium.
The Hawks controlled the opportunities throughout the match, outshooting the Cardinals 27-9 while holding a 14-4 advantage in shots on goal and a 13-2 edge in corner kicks.
Quincy broke through in the 23rd minute when
Marina Oberschmid found the back of the net off an assist from
Jessie Newton on a corner kick.
The Hawks doubled the advantage in the 34th minute when Newton scored after a setup from
Abbie Martin.
Just before halftime,
Aubrey Eagan converted a penalty kick for the first goal of her collegiate career, sending Quincy into the break with a 3-0 advantage.
Rebecca Rheinheimer capped the scoring in the 51st minute, finishing another opportunity created by Newton.
Newton finished the afternoon with one goal and two assists, while Oberschmid, Eagan and Rheinheimer each added a goal.

Devin Tracy made four saves to secure her fourth shutout of the season.
Two Productive Attacks Meet

Quincy and UMSL have already faced several of the same opponents this season.
Both teams played Pittsburg State during nonconference action, with Quincy suffering a 1-0 loss while UMSL fell 5-0 in its season opener.
The teams have also faced Lewis, Indianapolis and Illinois Springfield in conference play.
Quincy battled Lewis to a scoreless draw, while UMSL defeated the Flyers 2-1.
Both teams posted convincing victories over Indianapolis, with Quincy winning 5-0 and UMSL earning a 5-1 victory.
Most recently, Quincy suffered a 1-0 loss to Illinois Springfield before UMSL defeated the Prairie Stars 4-1.

The Hawks have allowed just seven goals through 10 matches and have recorded four shutouts.
Tracy has made 37 saves while providing consistency in goal throughout the season.
The Hawks have surrendered more than one goal only once this year and have allowed just two goals over their last six matches.
That defensive effort will face one of its toughest tests Wednesday against a UMSL attack averaging more than two goals per game.
Conference Standings Implications
Wednesday's contest also carries early significance in the GLVC standings.
UMSL enters unbeaten in conference play at 5-0-1, while Quincy sits close behind at 4-1-2.
