QUINCY, Ill. – Quincy University Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Josh Rabe has announced the hiring of Miles Stading as the next head coach of the Quincy University women's lacrosse program.
Stading becomes the third head coach in program history as the Hawks prepare to enter their eighth season of competition in 2027. He moves into the role after serving as an assistant coach with the Quincy men's lacrosse program during the 2026 season.
"We are excited to welcome Miles Stading to lead our women's lacrosse program," Rabe said. "Miles has demonstrated a strong commitment to student-athlete development, a passion for the game, and a proven ability to build meaningful relationships with players. His energy, leadership, and vision for the future of Quincy University Women's Lacrosse make him an outstanding fit for our department. We are confident he will continue to build a competitive program that reflects the values and mission of Quincy University."
"I am incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to lead the Quincy women's lacrosse program," Stading said. "We are going to build a program that competes with toughness, plays with HEART, and makes people proud to wear Quincy across their chest."
Stading joined the Quincy staff in June of 2025 as the men's lacrosse assistant coach after spending four seasons at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. He began his coaching career with Huntingdon as an assistant coach before being elevated to associate head coach after two seasons.
During his time on staff, Huntingdon competed in the challenging USA South Conference while Stading played a key role in the development of the team's offense. Under his guidance, the program doubled its goal output following his first season and went on to produce two seasons near the 200-goal mark.
Prior to his time at Huntingdon, Stading spent the shortened 2020 season with the Hanover College men's lacrosse program. The Panthers played seven games before the remainder of the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stading also put together a strong playing career at Huntingdon, where he was a three-year starter at attack. He helped lead the program to the 2018 USA South Conference Championship, earning Huntingdon a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The following season, Huntingdon captured a second consecutive USA South regular-season title and advanced back to the conference championship game.
During his senior season, Stading earned national recognition from Inside Lacrosse as a finalist among the 50 States of Lacrosse, highlighting top players from across the country.
Off the field, Stading was a four-time USA South Academic All-Conference selection. He was also involved with Huntingdon's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Quality Enhancement Plan Committee.
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Stading graduated from Huntingdon in May 2019 with a bachelor's degree in chemistry.
