SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Quincy University women's tennis team fell 5-2 to Illinois Springfield on Friday afternoon.
UIS claimed the doubles point by winning the top two courts, despite Quincy earning a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles behind
Sofia Tesic and
Heidi Navas.
The Hawks picked up two points in singles play. At No. 1,
Mahi Panchal battled through a three-set match to earn a 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 victory, extending her singles winning streak to six matches.
At No. 5, Navas also won in three sets, defeating Jane Carter 6-4, 3-6, 7-6. The victory marked Navas' third straight singles win. Illinois Springfield claimed the remaining singles courts to secure the team result.
The Hawks will be back in action tomorrow against Maryville with the first serve scheduled for 2:00 PM.
