Hawks Wrap Up Season in Big Rapids

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Quincy University STUNT team wrapped up its 2026 season on Sunday with a pair of matches in Big Rapids, falling to Ferris State University 26-7 before dropping a 26-14 decision to Saint Mary's College.

Ferris State took control early in the opening match, shutting out the Hawks in the first quarter while building a 4-0 lead. Quincy responded in the second quarter with two points, but the Bulldogs still held an 10-2 advantage at halftime.

The Hawks continued to battle in the third quarter, matching their second-quarter total with two more points, but Ferris State added five points to stay comfortably in front. Quincy had its best offensive quarter in the fourth with three points, but Ferris closed the match with 11 points to secure the 26-7 win.

In the second match of the day, the Hawks turned in one of their strongest offensive performances of the season against Saint Mary's. Quincy stayed close early, trailing just 2-1 after the opening quarter. The Hawks added two more points in the second quarter, but Saint Mary's maintained a 6-3 lead heading into halftime.

Quincy continued to fight in the third quarter, scoring three points while Saint Mary's added seven. The Hawks then exploded for eight points in the final quarter, their second highest-scoring quarter of the season, but Saint Mary's answered with 13 points to pull away for the 26-14 victory.

The Hawks close out just the second season in program history after making major strides in their first year competing in the GLVC. Under the direction of Diane Shoemaker, who was named GLVC Coach of the Year, Quincy reached new heights in year two and had five All-Conference selections. The season marked another significant step forward for the program as it continues to grow within both the conference and the sport.
