Hawks Split Saturday Matches Inside Pepsi Arena

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University STUNT team split a pair of matches inside Pepsi Arena on Saturday, falling to Drury University 22-6 before bouncing back with a 9-0 shutout victory over Southwest Baptist University.

Against Drury, the Hawks were blanked in the opening quarter as the Panthers took a 4-0 lead. Quincy responded in the second quarter, matching Drury with three points to keep pace, but the Panthers maintained a 7-3 advantage at the half. The Hawks continued to battle in the third quarter and actually outscored Drury 5-2, trimming the deficit to 9-8 heading into the final quarter. Drury, however, pulled away in the fourth, posting 13 points while holding Quincy to one to secure the 22-6 win.

In the second match of the day, Quincy turned in its strongest performance of the season with a dominant 9-0 victory over Southwest Baptist. The Hawks took control early with a point in each of the first two quarters to hold a 2-0 halftime lead. Quincy added two more points in the third quarter before putting the match away with a five-point fourth quarter, sealing the shutout win.

The Hawks will return to action on Sunday inside Pepsi Arena when they host Maryville University at 12:30 PM. Quincy and Maryville met earlier this season, with the Saints earning a 27-4 victory.
