INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced its 2026 Men's Soccer All-Conference teams and postseason awards on Wednesday, November 4, with three Quincy University student-athletes receiving recognition.
Junior forward Leo Cann earned All-GLVC First Team honors, while senior midfielder Josh Nwosu was named to the All-GLVC Second Team. Additionally, Carter Venvertloh was selected as Quincy's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honoree.
For the second consecutive season, the Hawks placed multiple student-athletes on the All-Conference teams.
Leo Cann – All-GLVC First Team
Cann earned the first All-Conference recognition of his collegiate career following a standout offensive campaign for the Hawks. The junior becomes the first Quincy player to earn All-GLVC First Team honors since Aubrey Reis during the 2020-21 season.
Cann appeared in and started all 18 matches for Quincy, logging 1,360 minutes, the fourth-most on the team. He led the Hawks in every major offensive category, finishing with 10 goals, four assists, 24 points, 75 shots, 35 shots on goal and three game-winning goals.
His 10 goals tied for fourth in the GLVC and made him the first Hawk to reach double-digit goals in a single season since Reis accomplished the feat in 2018. Cann's 24 points also ranked fourth in the conference, while his three game-winning goals tied for third.
The junior was one of the conference's most active offensive threats, leading the GLVC with 75 shots and 35 shots on goal. His average of 4.17 shots per game ranked fourth nationally in NCAA Division II, while his 1.94 shots on goal per game ranked 11th in the country.
Cann's offensive production played a significant role in Quincy's attack throughout the season, as he established himself among the top offensive players in both the conference and the nation.
Josh Nwosu – All-GLVC Second Team
Nwosu collected the first All-Conference honor of his collegiate career after being selected to the All-GLVC Second Team.
The senior midfielder appeared in and started all 18 matches for the Hawks, totaling 1,308 minutes on the pitch, the fifth-most on the team.
Nwosu finished the campaign with five goals, two assists and 12 points, ranking second on the team in goals and tied for second in total points. He also recorded one game-winning goal.
A consistent presence in Quincy's midfield, Nwosu provided another offensive weapon for the Hawks throughout the season, finishing as one of the team's leading contributors in goals and points.
Carter Venvertloh – James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award Honoree
Venvertloh was named Quincy's representative for the GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award, joining 14 other student-athletes from around the conference in receiving the distinction.
The award recognizes student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior while maintaining good academic standing and demonstrating good citizenship outside of athletic competition.
As Quincy's honoree, Venvertloh is now eligible to be selected as one of the university's two overall James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the conclusion of the 2026-27 academic year.
All-Conference selections are nominated and voted on by the league's head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes.
