INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -
Brian Farley has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Wrestler of the Week, following a dominant performance that helped lead the Hawks to a convincing 41–9 victory over the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees.
The sophomore from Romeoville, Illinois, set the tone early in the dual at 125 pounds, needing just 43 seconds to secure a fall over Anthony Trendle. Farley's quick pin jump-started the Hawks and underscored Quincy's momentum from the opening bout.
The win marked Farley's 13th victory of the season and his third by fall, as he continues to establish himself as a key contributor in the Hawks' lightweight lineup.
Farley becomes the fourth Hawk in program history to earn GLVC Wrestler of the Week honors. The most recent recipient prior to Farley was
Jackson Jones, who earned the distinction earlier this season on November 26.
Farley and the Hawks will return to action on Friday, January 9, when they travel to Marshall, Minnesota, for the Iron Mike Duals. Quincy is set to face Fort Hays State, Northern State, Sioux Falls, and host Southwest Minnesota State, with competition beginning at 11:00 AM.
