Box Score 2 JOLIET, Ill. – Quincy University men's and women's tennis each earned a dominant 7-0 sweep over the University of St. Francis on Saturday at Challenge Fitness. The Hawks were in control across both doubles and singles play, setting the tone for a strong start to the fall season.
The women's team wasted no time establishing momentum, sweeping all three doubles matches in convincing fashion. The energy carried into singles play, where Quincy closed out all six courts in straight sets without dropping more than four games in a single set. The victory marked a balanced team effort, with every player in the lineup contributing to the clean sweep.
On the men's side, Quincy mirrored that dominance with a doubles sweep to grab the opening point. The Hawks then rolled through singles, led by a composed performance at the top spot by
Inigo Villacampa, who secured a straight-sets victory. Behind him, the rest of the lineup sealed the sweep with a string of decisive wins, including back-to-back shutouts on the back courts.
The Hawks will return to action on Sunday at Grand View University, with both men's and women's matches scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM.
