Hawks Sweep Simpson to Even Record at 1–1

INDIANOLA, Iowa — Quincy men's tennis earned its first win of the season on Wednesday, September 17, rolling past Simpson College 4–0 before storms forced the remaining matches to be canceled.

The Hawks set the tone in doubles play, sweeping all three courts. Inigo Villacampa and Rodrigo Coelle rolled to a 6–2 win at No. 1, while Patricio Jimenez and Alvaro Rueda dominated 6–0 at No. 2. David Eusamio and Gerard Abad closed out the sweep with a 6–1 decision at No. 3.

In singles, Quincy wasted no time extending its lead. Villacampa earned a 6–0, 6–1 victory at the top spot, followed by Abad's 6–1, 6–1 win at No. 2. Jimenez clinched the match with a flawless 6–0, 6–0 performance on court four, sealing the Hawks' 4–0 triumph. The remaining singles matches went unfinished due to weather.

Quincy (1–1) will continue its road swing on Saturday, September 20, when both the men's and women's teams travel to Joliet, Illinois, to take on the University of St. Francis (Ill.).
