BOLIVAR, Mo. — The Quincy University women's tennis team came up short in its GLVC road matchup on Monday afternoon, falling 7-0 to a strong Southwest Baptist squad at the John A. Bryant Tennis Center.
The Hawks were overpowered in doubles as the host Bearcats swept all three courts. Mahi Panchal and Katrin Ismailova dropped a 6-1 decision at No. 1 doubles, while Ana Alvarez and Anna Matino fell by the same score at No. 2. Southwest Baptist secured the doubles point with a 6-0 win at No. 3.
In singles play, Ismailova delivered a gritty effort at No. 2, battling to a third set after taking the second 6-2. She ultimately fell 6-2, 2-6, 6-0. Alvarez also fought hard at No. 3, narrowly dropping the second set in a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) loss.
The Bearcats controlled the other courts in straight sets. Panchal fell 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1, Matino dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision at No. 4, and both Nora Hennessy and Brittney Kelly were defeated 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

The Hawks will now turn their focus to their final GLVC match of the regular season, returning home to host Truman State University on Saturday, April 26 at Reservoir Park. First serve is set for 11:00 AM.
