QUINCY, Ill. — The Quincy University women's tennis team closed out its 2025 season with an impressive 5-2 victory over Truman State University on Saturday afternoon at Reservoir Park.
The Hawks (8-12) started fast, capturing the doubles point with strong play at the top two courts. Mahi Panchal and Katrin Ismailova picked up a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles, while Anna Matino and Ana Alvarez secured a 6-4 victory at No. 2. Truman State won by walkover at No. 3 doubles, but Quincy carried a 1-0 advantage into singles play.
In singles action, Quincy continued its dominance, winning four of the five contested matches. Panchal delivered a commanding 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles to set the tone. Ismailova followed with an equally strong performance at No. 2, cruising to a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Alvarez kept the momentum rolling at No. 3 singles with a 6-4, 6-1 win, and Matino clinched the team victory by taking her match 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Truman State earned wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, as Brittney Kelly fell in straight sets and Nora Hennessy was forced to forfeit due to walkover.
Saturday's win provided a fitting finish to the Hawks' season, as Quincy wrapped up the year with a home victory to end the 2025 campaign on a high note.
