LOCKPORT, Ill. - The Quincy University women's tennis team made the trip up to the Chicagoland area to face off with the Fighting Saints of St. Francis on Thursday afternoon (Feb. 27), taking down SF by a 5-2 score.

Quincy opened with a clean sheet in doubles action, as the top Hawks' pairing of Katrin Ismailova and Mahi Panchal downed the St. Francis offering of Anna Bintsarovskaya and Gabriella Noa by a 6-3 score. The duo of Ana Alvarez and Anna Matino delivered the doubles point-clincher with a 6-3 defeat of the SF pairing of Eva Kubilius and Heather Heintz. Brittaney Kelly and Nora Hennessy came away with a default victory in No. 3 doubles action to close out a perfect Quincy showing.

The Fighting Saints represented their name well in the first two singles matches, showing some fight with a pair of wins, as Ismailova was bested 0-6, 0-6 by Bintsarovskaya at one, while Noa dealt Panchal a 6-7, 6-4, 3-10 defeat at two to even the tally at 2-2 aside following another QU point thanks to a Kelly default win in the No. 6 match.
