WILLIAMSVILLE, Ill. - The stage is set in Williamsville for one of the biggest matches in Quincy University volleyball history, as the 3-seeded Hawks (24–5, 11–2 GLVC) take on the 1-seeded and No. 25 nationally ranked Missouri–St. Louis Tritons (25–4, 13–0 GLVC) in the 2025 GLVC Volleyball Championship. First serve is scheduled for 12:00 PM today inside the Williamsville High School Field House.
This marks Quincy's second-ever appearance in the GLVC Championship match and the program's first since 1998, as the Hawks look to capture the first GLVC Tournament title in school history.
About the Opponent: No. 1 Seed Missouri-St. Louis (25-4, 13-0 GLVC)
UMSL is led by 2025 GLVC Coach of the Year Ryan Young, who is in his 15th season at the helm. Young owns a 308–145 career record, producing winning seasons in 11 of 14 years and guiding 13 teams to the GLVC Tournament. His Tritons have reached three of the last six championship matches, but have never won the GLVC Tournament, entering today 0–3 in finals appearances.
The Tritons enter the championship on a red-hot 18-match winning streak and remain undefeated in GLVC play. Their tournament run began with a five-set thriller over four-time defending champion Lewis on Friday, followed by a gritty four-set win over No. 4 seed Indianapolis in yesterday's semifinal.

Matchup History
UMSL has controlled the series since 2010, holding a 22–3 advantage over Quincy. However, the most recent meeting suggests a much tighter battle ahead. Earlier this season in St. Louis, the Hawks forced the match to five sets, even holding match point, before falling 17–15 in an instant classic.
The two programs have met just once in the GLVC Tournament dating back to 1991, which was in 2000, when Quincy swept UMSL in the quarterfinals.
