Hawks Compete at ITA Midwest Regionals in Grand Rapids

Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Quincy University women's tennis team competed on October 4–5 at the ITA Midwest Regionals, hosted by Davenport University. The Hawks gained valuable experience across multiple flights of both singles and doubles play, showing resilience in close matches and fighting deep into consolation brackets.

In singles action, several Hawks picked up strong performances despite early-round exits in the main draw. Mahi Panchal bounced back after dropping her opening-round match, earning a consolation victory before bowing out in the round of 16. Kaitlyn Brown also made noise in the consolation bracket, picking up a three-set quarterfinal victory before falling in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Heidi Navas and Nadia Araguas both pushed opponents in tight three-set battles, showcasing grit against quality regional competition.

On the doubles courts, QU duos gained key repetitions against tough opponents. Panchal and Anna Matino advanced to the consolation quarterfinals, battling in a close 8-5 defeat. The pairing of Sofia Tesic and Navas, along with the tandem of Maria Sarria and Araguas, also picked up consolation action after challenging first-round matches.

The Hawks will be back in action on October 17th and 18th as they travel to Springfield, Missouri, to compete in the EU Invitational, hosted by Evangel University.
