HAMMOND, Ind. - Quincy University junior outside hitter
Susanna Beretti has been selected to the Midwest Region Crossover All-Tournament Team, announced following the conclusion of the collegiate volleyball crossover event this past weekend.
Beretti was a consistent leader for the Hawks as they finished with a 2-1 record at the tournament, collecting wins over Northern Michigan and Cedarville. Over 10 sets of action, she totaled 54.5 points (5.5 P/S), 50 kills (5.0 K/S), 39 digs (3.9 D/S), five blocks, four assists, and two service aces.
In the opening match against Ohio Dominican, Beretti recorded 10 kills, two assists, 14 digs, and one block to post 10.5 total points in the setback. She bounced back in dominant fashion against Northern Michigan, leading the Hawks with 19 kills on a .327 hitting percentage, while adding seven digs, one ace, and four blocks for 22.0 points. Beretti then capped the weekend with another big outing against Cedarville, notching 21 kills, her fifth career match with 20 or more, along with 18 digs and a service ace for 22.0 total points.
Beretti and the Hawks now shift their focus back to Great Lakes Valley Conference play. Quincy travels to Springfield, Missouri, on Friday, October 24, to take on Drury University at 6:00 PM. The Hawks enter the matchup with a 15-5 overall record and a 4-2 mark in GLVC play, with seven conference matches remaining on the schedule.
