Hawks Earn Draw with #24 Lewis

Box Score Quincy, Ill. - The Quincy University men's team took on their second nationally-ranked opponent this week in the #24 Lewis University Flyers. The Hawks battled with the Flyers and earned a 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 15).

The Flyers spent some significant time in Hawk territory in the first half and it proved successful when they scored in the 25th minute.

George Roke started in net for the Hawks and posted some key saves late in the first half to keep the Hawks within one going into halftime.

The halftime break was beneficial for the Hawks. Mathias Bringedal found himself on a one-on-one breakaway with the keeper and shocked the fans when he passed the ball to Leo Cann who buried the ball past a stretched out keeper and defender.

George Roke finished with nine saves for the Hawks Sunday afternoon.

The Hawks will return to Legends Stadium next weekend (Sept. 20th & 22nd) to face the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds and University of Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars.
