QUINCY, Ill. - Dustin Dupont and Griffin Kirn were selected to the D2CCA All-America teams on Thursday (May 30). Both are receiving their first All-America selections of their career with Dupont garnering third team consideration and Kirn as an honorable mention choice. 

Dupont had a very strong season hitting in the heart of the order for the Hawks, posting top-10 finishes in the conference in slugging percentage (.695), runs batted in (74) and home runs (19) with the latter two stats ranking in the top-five all-time in the programs history for a single season. In addition, the Selvin, IN native sported a .340 average with 71 hits, 57 runs scored, 23 walks, 15 doubles, a .418 on base percentage and a 1.113 OPS while holding a .982 fielding percentage from behind the plate. 

Kirn was a workhorse for the Hawks this season serving as the game one starter for Quincy compiling an 8-1 record while ranking in the top-10 in the conference in ERA (2.96), opposing batting average (.234), innings pitched (82.0), strikeouts (100), wins, hits allowed (69), runs allowed (30) and earned runs allowed (26) earning him the GLVC Pitcher of the Year Award. In addition, the Quincy native added his name to the QU baseball record books for both career and single-season achievement with 100 strikeouts this season ranking fourth all-time along with the second most career punchouts (259) and fifth-most career wins (22) in the history of the program. 

Both players became eligible for All-America status thanks to receiving All-Region first team selections from the D2CCA. 

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies, and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and work closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
