Quincy, Ill. - The Quincy University football program announced its 2024 class on National Signing Day today (Feb. 7). The Hawks welcome a 39-man recruiting class.
Maximus Rogers, Elijah Seaton, Robert Gooding, Christopher Flachs, and Carter Athen have signed their National Letters of Intent and are ready to join the already powerful Quincy University football program.
Maximus Rogers
Coming to Quincy from Breese, Illinois, Maximus Rogers joins the linebacker crew at Quincy University. Rogers helped the Breese Central Community High School make the state quarterfinals for just the third time in school history. He was a two-year letter winner for football at Breese Central as well as a three-year varsity track sprinter and an honor roll student.

Rogers loved the campus and the coaches at QU and easily envisioned himself going to Quincy. From there, he knew he was destined to be a Hawk!
Elijah Seaton
Traveling from Oswego, Illinois, Elijah Seaton joins a strong group of defensive backs at Quincy University. This Oswego High School graduate was all-conference, a captain, Rookie of the Year, and a part of the 1000 Pound Club. Seaton was in the Cowbell club and had high honors throughout high school, He enjoys working with kids in his free time.

Seaton chose Quincy University because it is a safe school with a team that loves to learn and win together.
Robert Gooding
Gooding joins the Hawks after a state championship run with Central High School in Camp Point, some 20 miles east of Quincy, during the 2023 season after a state runner-up finish in 2022. The Coatsburg native was a three year varsity letter winner and Second Team All-Conference selection as an offensive tackle, although he will be joining the Hawks as a long snapper.

Gooding chose Quincy University because he "loves what the coaches are building here." Adding that a fantastic campus and staff and faculty that have his best interests in mind, not just in college, but in life.
Chris Flachs
Joining the Hawks for the 2024 season is Chris Flachs, a Quincy native and current Blue Devil at Quincy Senior High School. The two-time All-Western Big 6 first team honoree and honorable mention honoree adds grit to the offensive line at Quincy. Flachs holds multiple school lifting records, was a seven-time honor roll recipient, and enjoys fishing in his free time.

"I chose QU because it felt like this was where I was supposed to be as soon as I stepped on campus," says Flachs. "I loved the culture of the football team and that it was close to home."
Carter Athen
The All-Conference wideout and outside linebacker out of Logan-Rogersville High School in Rogersville, MO joins the Hawks utilizing only his defensive prowess as a linebacker. Aside from three letter years of football in high school, Athen also added All-Conference, All-District and one All-State nod his junior year in track. In his free time, you can find Athen hanging with friends and family, spending time outdoors hunting, fishing or hiking and also working out. Athen chose QU because "it feels like home, everyone is super nice and welcoming."
