St. Paul, Minn. - The Quincy University women's lacrosse team opened up their 2024 slate this Friday (Feb. 16) at Concordia-St. Paul. The Hawks beat the Golden Bears for the first time in program history 12-10.
The Hawks and Golden Bears battled for the first two points of the game, but the Hawks defense kept busy for the remaining 10 minutes of the quarter, with the Golden Bears taking the lead 5-2.
Amelia Ham got the Hawks back in the groove with a player-down goal, paving the way for senior
Danielle Robinson to missile three goals to the back of the net. The Hawks couldn't hold onto the tie into halftime and gave the Golden Bears the advantage in the final seconds of the half.
Freshman
Alaina Wilkinson made a splash in her debut as a Hawk, tying up the game once again in the third quarter. Play became more physical as the quarter went on with the officials pulling multiple cards out of their pockets.
Senior
Patricia Chavira had herself a game Friday night scoring back-to-back goals within 48 seconds to give the Hawks the advantage going into the final quarter of play. Ham split Chavira's final two goals in the fourth quarter, guiding the Hawks to their first win of 2024.

Kelly McClure, registered seven saves in her 15th win in brown and gold.
The Hawks continue their trip up north with GLIAC meet and greet against the Northern Michigan Wildcats.
