Box Score MACOMB, Ill. - The Quincy University women's tennis team made the short trip north to Macomb to take on DI foe, Western Illinois on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 6). The Leathernecks gave the Hawks all they could handle, taking every match in a 7-0 defeat of QU.
Katrin Ismailova fared the best of any Hawks in competition, forcing her match to three sets before falling to Chloe Routier (2-6, 6-4, [4-10]).
Mahi Panchal dropped her match to Paige Grice (0-6, 1-6) while
Ana Alvarez was bested by Gabriela Miteva (3-6, 2-6).
Anna Matino came out on the wrong side of a (5-7, 2-6) match against Lara de Souza and
Nora Hennessy was outdone by Nadezhda Petkova (0-6, 0-6).
Brittney Kelly concluded singles play with a (0-6, 1-6) defeat at the hands of Nour Gueblaoui.
In doubles action, the pairing of Panchal and Ismailova fell to Routier and Gueblaoui (4-6) in the top match while the duo of Alvarez and Matino fell by the same score (4-6) in their doubles match to Petkova and Francois. Kelly and Hennessy were defeated (0-6) in their match against Grice and Fawcett.
