Quincy, Ill. – The Quincy University women's soccer team ended its weekend with a Sunday (Sept. 17) match against a very talented Maryville University Saints. The Hawks were outscored 7-0 in their second match in GLVC play.
The Saints struck quickly, drawing a hand ball just outside the box. Maryville's Lexi Gentry finessed the ball to the back of the net, forcing the Hawks to chase the rest of the match.

Julia Mincher got the nod again at goal for Quincy on Sunday afternoon. Mincher had a few key saves that kept the Saints at bay, including a one-v-one block halfway through the first half of play and an extension to her right side late in the second half.
The Hawks went into the locker room four goals down at half. Momentum changed for the Hawks in the second half with more chances going forward, despite fewer chances on net.
The Hawks allowed three more goals in the second half, resulting in a 7-0 loss. They will return on Homecoming weekend, playing the University of Illinois Springfield at noon on Sunday, October 1
