Liberty, Mo. - The Quincy University women's soccer team drew a tie against William Jewell on Sunday (Oct. 15). A last minute goal from sophomore
Ella Wolfard gives the Hawks a much-needed point out of their travel weekend.
Though the first thirty minutes remained scoreless, they did not fly by without excitement. The referee showed four yellow cards in that time, two going to the Hawks side. The Hawks finally broke through just before half with
Alexis Boyer getting her first goal of the season off a corner kick.
William Jewell bounced back with confidence early in the second half, scoring two goals in the first ten minutes. The Hawks outshot the Cardinals 5-1 in the remainder of the half with
Ella Wolfard sending her final shot to the back of the net in the last 56 seconds of the game. Wolfard's banger of a goal came from a narrow angle outside the eighteen-yard box and hit the far post's netting. The captain has scored in the last three games, accumulating six goals over the whole season.
The Hawks return to Quincy for their final weekend at Jack Mackenzie Field this weekend, taking on McKendree on Friday night and UMSL on Sunday.
