QUINCY, ILL. - The Quincy University Football team hosted the 12th ranked Ashland University Eagles on Homecoming Saturday (September 24). Ashland comes away with the win 34-14.
After an interception return by the Eagles defense to the Hawk 4 yard line, the Eagles punched it in on the first play to take the 7-0 lead. With the first quarter winding down, Ashland made it 14-0 on a 24 yard TD run.
The 2nd quarter was quiet for both teams, but Ashland added a 29-yard field goal with three seconds left in the half.
On the opening drive of the 3rd quarter, the Eagles went 69 yards in 11 plays to make it 24-0. During the midway point of the 3rd quarter,

Jalen Lawrence for a 26 yard TD pass to make it 24-7. On the next Ashland drive, they made it 27-7 on a 21 yard field goal. With under 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, Ashland added another touchdown to make it 34-7.
The Hawks capped off the scoring with a Harris 1 yard run for the score to make it 34-14.
