Quincy, Ill. - The Quincy University Women's Soccer team wrapped up the opening weekend by hosting the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals on Sunday (August 28). The Cardinals came out victorious by the score of 2-0.
After a fairly quiet first 30 minutes of the contest, SVSU applied more pressure. This resulted in a goal for the Cardinals in the 35th minute off of a corner kick. Just two minutes into the second half, SVSU added an insurance marker.
The Hawks had a few chances as the game went on, but could not get anything past the Cardinal keeper.
Jessica Felix registered 6 of the Hawks' 12 shots. Oliva Kindt made 5 saves.
Next up for the Hawks is a road trip to St. Louis, Missouri to take on the Maryville Saints on Friday, September 2nd in a non-conference game.
