Quincy, Ill. – The Quincy University Baseball team continued their four-game series against the Missouri S&T Miners on Saturday (5/7) afternoon at QU Stadium. The Hawks took game 1 by the score of 5-1. They also took game 2 by the score of 11-3.
GAME 1
The Hawks got on the board first with a
Lance Logsdon RBI groundout that scored
Luke Napleton. The Miners tied the game in the top of the 3
rd with a Doug Wood home run to left field. In the bottom half of the inning,
Dayson Croes hit his 8
th home run of the season to give the Hawks the 2-1 lead.
Napleton singled to right center in the bottom of the 5
th that scored
Kade Burns to make it 3-1. In the 6
th inning,
Sebastian Martinez doubled down the left field line to score
Nolan Wosman. The next batter,
Zach Parks singled to right center that scored Martinez to give the Hawks a 5-1 lead.

GAME 2
Luke Napleton started the scoring with a home run to left field for his 17
th of the season. The Miners would take the lead in the top of the 3
rd on an RBI groundout and scoring on a wild pitch.
Nolan Wosman tied the game in the bottom half of the inning on a sac fly to center field that scored
Gino D'Alessio.
In the bottom of the 5
th, the Hawks would add 3 runs on 4 hits. Martinez got the scoring started with an RBI single that scored
Lance Logsdon.
Kade Burns laid down a bunt for a single, which would score Wosman. Napleton finished off the inning with an RBI single to right field that scored
Joe Roscetti.
The Hawks had a big inning to break the game open in the bottom of the 6
th. They added 6 runs on 4 hits. Wosman started the scoring in the inning with a sac fly to center, which scored
Dayson Croes. After Roscetti drew a walk,
Zach Parks singled up the middle to score D'Alessio. Burns kept the line moving with a single through the left side to score Roscetti.
Brock Boynton caped off the scoring with a 3-run home run to right field. That was Boynton's 4
th home run of the season.
