Baseball Scores 29 Runs in Midweek Doubleheader

St. Louis, Mo. – The QU Hawk Baseball team traveled to St. Louis on Tuesday (4/26) afternoon for a non-conference doubleheader against the University of Missouri – St. Louis Tritons. The Hawks took both games by the scores of 17-2 and 12-7.

GAME 1
The Hawk offense picked up right where they left off from the weekend as Lance Logsdon started the scoring with a 2-run home run to right field. QU added 2 more runs in the top of the 2nd, as Zach Parks scored on a balk. Than, Luke Napleton hit a sac fly to center field that scored Adam Lewis to make it 4-0.

Quincy added 5 more runs in the 3rd on 3 hits. Sebastian Martinez singled, with Logsdon scoring on an error by the right fielder. The next batter, Parks scored Martinez on an RBI single to make it 6-0 Hawks. Brock Boynton chipped in on the offensive production with an RBI double to right field that scored Parks. The Hawks 8th and 9th runs of the game were on a ground out and a wild pitch.

After Quincy scratched their 10th run across in the top of the 3rd, they added 4 more runs in their half of the 4th. Nolan Wosman singled to center field that scored Gino D'Alessio. Parks made it 13-2 on a 2 RBI single that scored Wosman and Logsdon. Adam Lewis stepped in next and brought home Martinez on an RBI single.

The Hawk offense scored 3 more runs in the top of the 6th on a sac fly by Martinez and an error by the 2nd baseman.

GAME 2
QU jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the nightcap of the doubleheader. Nolan Wosman got the offense started with a 2 RBI double to left field that scored Dayson Croes and Luke Napleton. Joe Roscetti then hit a sac fly to center field to score D'Alessio. Tanner Dreher ended the scoring in the inning with an RBI single to center field that scored Wosman.

In the top of the 3rd, Andrew Buescher singled to right field that scored Roscetti to make it 5-0 Hawks. Boynton than added the 6th run on a single that scored Buescher. The offense kept rolling in the 5th inning as Napleton doubled to left field that scored Buescher and Dreher to give the Hawks a 10-0 lead. Dayson Croes singled to left field that scored Napleton and Boynton.

The Tritons scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th and 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th.
