QUINCY, IL---The Quincy men's volleyball team fell 3-0 on senior day to Loyola Chicago 25-19, 25-23, and 25-14 on Saturday (April 2) night.
Hawks trailed 15-13 in the first set, but Loyola used a 4-1 run to control the pace and run to the finish line to take the first set.
Loyola took a 3-0 lead in the second set, but Quincy tied the game at 4-4. Quincy was leading 16-14 in the second set, and then it was tied at 17-17. Quincy came within a point at 24-23, but Loyola capped off the set the following point on a service error.
The third set was tied at 6-6, but a 7-0 run by Loyola helped them gain momentum to take the third set and the game.
Quincy hit .108 for the game, and
Nathan Lawton led QU with 14 kills, while
Jonas Holzinger led the way with 24 assists for the Hawks.
