Evansville, Ind.—The Quincy University Baseball team continued their road series against the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles with a doubleheader on Saturday (4/2) afternoon. USI took game 1 by the score of 5-1, while the Hawks took game 2 by the score of 5-3.
GAME 1
The Screaming Eagles struck first with an RBI double to make it 1-0 in the bottom of the 1
st. Then in the bottom of the 2
nd, Archuleta hit a sac fly to right field to give USI a 2-0 lead. They would add 3 more runs in the 2
nd inning to make it 5-0.
The Hawks got on the board with their lone run on a
Brock Boynton RBI double to left center field.
Tyler Carpenter got the start, lasted 2 innings, allowing 5 runs.
Cruz Meier came on in relief striking out 4, only allowing one hit.

GAME 2
The nightcap of the doubleheader started off with
Dayson Croes hit a 2 RBI single to right center that scored
Lance Logsdon and
Zach Parks. The next batter was
Brock Boynton who scored
Nolan Wosman on the sac fly to make it 3-0 Hawks. Southern Indiana answered with 2 runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. They loaded the bases which resulted in an RBI single and walk to make it 3-2.
In the top of the 3
rd,
Kade Burns doubled down the right field line to score Napleton. As the game moved to the 5
th inning, Napleton hit a sac fly to right field that scored Wosman to extend Quincy's lead to 5-2. USI got one run back in the bottom of the 5
th.
Alex Pribyl got the start for the Hawks, going 4 innings, striking out 10. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits.
Sam Stephens came in the 7
th inning and picked up the save. He struck out the side, while allowing a walk.
