St. Joseph, Mo. – The Quincy University Baseball team stepped out of conference play on Tuesday (4/19) evening with a road trip to Missouri Western State University for a doubleheader. The Hawks took game one by the score of 7-4, while falling in game 2 by score of 5-2.
GAME ONE
The Griffons jumped out to an early 3-0 lead through two innings. The Hawks finally got on the board in the top of the 4
th with a bases loaded walk to
Nolan Wosman. The next batter in
Sebastian Martinez hit into a double play, but still scored
Luke Napleton to make it 3-2 Griffons. The Griffons made it a 2-run game in the bottom of the 4
th while scoring on a wild pitch.
In the top of the 6
th,
Dayson Croes hit an RBI single to the first baseman that scored Napleton to make it 4-3. The Hawks tied it in the top of the 7
th with a
Lance Logsdon RBI single through the right side to score
Gino D'Alessio. Croes singled through the right side as well, and was able to advance to third on an error, which scored Napleton and
Kade Burns to make it 6-4 Hawks. Wosman hit an RBI double to left field that scored Croes.

GAME TWO
The Hawks offense continued the production where the first game left off.
Gino D'Alessio singled through the right side to score Croes and Napleton. The Griffons got on the board with a bases loaded walk and scoring on a pass ball.
In the bottom of the 6
th, MWSU would extend their lead with a 3-run home run to right field to make it 5-2.
