Hawks Offense Held In Check, Swept Versus Greyhounds On Friday

QUINCY, Ill.---The Quincy University baseball team fell 3-2 and 3-0 on Friday (April 15) against the University of Indianapolis at QU Stadium. 

Game 1
The Greyhounds struck first in the top of the first inning, but Quincy tied the game when Gino D'Alessio led off the bottom of the first with a home run to make the score 1-1. That score remained the same until UIndy scored in the top of the fifth, and then Dayson Croes hit a home run to tie the game in the home half of the fifth inning. The Greyhounds scored in the top of the seventh to take a 3-2 lead, and held Quincy off the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh to earn the win. 

Game 2
UIndy scored two runs in the top of the first, and that is all they would need as they threw for a combined shutout. The Greyhounds scored another run in the top of the second to take a 3-0 lead, and that was the final score as the final five innings were scoreless for both teams.

The series will conclude tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. CT at QU Stadium versus the Greyhounds.
