Quincy, Ill. - The Quincy University Baseball team concluded their four game series with the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds on Saturday (4/16) afternoon and fell by the score of 5-3.
The Greyhounds got on the board in the top of the 1st with an Alex Vela double down the left field line to score Brandon DeWitt. Aaron Blake would make it 2-0 with a sac fly to right field that scored Vela.Â
UIndy would extend their lead in the 4th inning on a Blake double to left center, that scored Cale Vaughn. Blake then scored on a Armen Torosian ground out to the shortstop.Â
The Hawks got on the board in the bottom of the 6th with a
Lance Logsdon RBI single to center field that scored
Kade Burns to make it 4-1 Greyhounds. In the bottom of the 7th,
Luke Napleton hit his 13th home run of the season over the right field wall.Â
The Greyhounds added a 5th run on a Caleb Vaughn sac fly in the top of the 8th. In the bottom half of the inning,
Dayson Croes doubled to left center that scored
Joe Roscetti.
The Hawks would threaten in the bottom of the 9th. They would load the bases, but
Lance Logsdon would strike out swinging to end the game.
