Quincy, Ill.—The Quincy University Women's Tennis team continued GLVC play on Friday (4/1) with a trip to Kirksville, Missouri to battle the Truman State Bulldogs and won by the score of 6-1.

In doubles action, Laila Leist-Alston and Blanca Salas Cruz defeated Allie Brown and Akansha Negi by the score of 6-0. The team of Katrin Ismailova and Paula Martinez battled hard but fell to Samantha Seggerman and Julia Fangman in a tiebreaker set. Steffi Lao and Juliana Vidal helped the Hawks clinch the doubles point with a 6-1 win over Rachel Shelly and Kennidy Shirey.

In singles action, Laila Leist-Alston defeated Allie Brown in straight sets by the scores of 6-0, 6-0. Blanca Salas Cruz clinched her point with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Akansha Negi. In 3 singles, Katrin Ismailova was able to secure the 6-1, 6-0 win over Samantha Seggerman. During the 4 singles match, Steffi Lao defeated Julia Fangman 6-2, 6-2. Julianna Vidal won the match at 5 singles over Kennidy Shirey 6-0, 6-0. To wrap up the match, Paula Martinez fell to Abbi Worster by the scores of 4-6, 2-6.
