Evansville, Ind.—The Quincy University Baseball team opened their first road GLVC series against the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles and won by the score of 7-2.
Luke Napleton got the offense started with his 10
th home run of the year to right center in the top of the 2
nd. The Hawks would load the bases and
Gino D'Alessio drew a walk to make it 2-0. USI would cut the lead in half on a single by Tachioka in the bottom of the 2
nd.
The game would stay that score until the 7
th inning, then
Dayson Croes reached on a fielder's choice that scored
Zach Parks. D'Alessio would score on a wild pitch to make it 4-1 Quincy.
Kade Burns collected his first hit of the season as he singled to right field to score
Tyler Carpenter and Croes.
In the top of the 8
th, Croes reached on another fielder's choice that let D'Alessio come around to score to make it 7-1. The Screaming Eagles scored one run in the bottom of the 9
th to make it 7-2.
Spencer Walker with another strong start improve to 5-0 as he went 8 innings, striking out 10. He allowed 7 hits, a run and only 3 walks.
