QUINCY, IL---The Hawks fel 8-0 and 5-3 against Southern Indiana on Sunday (March 27) in a doubleheader.
Game 1
USI scored two runs in the top of the first, and held that two run advantage until they added five more runs in the the top of the fourth. The tallied one more across in the top of the fifth to secure the win over QU in five innings. The Hawks finished with two hits in game one, coming from
Casey Brennan and
Mykah Hurley.
Game 2
QU took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the third after
Taylor Downen and
Bailey Mitchell each blasted home runs. Quincy held on to this advantage until USI hit a go-ahead three run home run to right center field in the seventh and the Hawks fell in game two 5-3.
Jayle Jennings worked seven innings for QU and only surrendered four earned runs. Downen and Mitchell accounted for the two hits for the Hawks while two other runners reached base on a walk.
