Topeka, KS – The Hawks were swept in the doubleheader by the Emporia State Hornets by the scores of 7-6 and 6-1.
Game 1
After the Hornets took the lead in the bottom of the 2
nd,
Audrey Hermann got Quincy on the board with an RBI single in the top of the 3rd. The next batter up was Allison Maynard who laced an RBI double to give Quincy the 2-1 lead.
In the bottom of the 4
th, ESU would plate 5 runs to give them a 4 run lead at 6-2. The Hornets would send 10 batters to the plate, which helped them retake the lead.
As the top of the 5
th came around, the Hawks offense had some fight left in them. They would send 9 batters to the plate, which would tie the game at 6. That innings included a 2 RBI double by
Bailey Mitchell.
The Hornets would walk it off in the bottom of the 7
th on an RBI Fielder's Choice.

The Hornets struck early and often in the nightcap of the doubleheader. They would get on the board first with a 2 RBI single in the bottom of the 1
st. In the top of the 2
nd, Quincy would get on the board with an RBI single by
Casey Brennan.
Moving to the bottom of the 4
th, Emporia State would increase the lead to 4-1 on a 2 RBI double. Than in the bottom of the 6
th, they would add 2 more run to make it 6-1.
