Quincy (0-1) got three hits from
Gino D'Alessio, while
Lance Logsdon and
Dayson Croes had a pair of hits each.
The Lions scored a run in the first on an RBI from Milas, but Quincy scored a run in the second and three in the third to go up 4-1 after three innings.
Southern answered with two in the fourth on a two-run double from Miller and then tied the game in the fifth when
Tommy Stevenson reached on a fielder's choice driving in Kusiak.
The Lions added another run in the sixth to go up 5-4 after a home run from Miller. The Hawks tied it with a run in the top of the 7
th before the Lions answered with a pair in the bottom half to go up 7-5.
Quincy added a run in the eighth and another in the ninth to tie the score at 7 heading to the bottom of the ninth.
