SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The University of Illinois – Springfield Prairie Stars scored early and often on Sunday afternoon against the Hawks in Great Lakes Valley Conference play and won by the score of 7-0.
UIS scored its first goal in the 7
th minute as they took advantage of a Hawk turnover. Just 11 minutes later, the Prairie Stars doubled their lead. In the 23
rd minute, Illinois – Springfield kept the pressure on the Hawks as they found the back of the net for the 3
rd time. The Prairie Stars rounded out their first half scoring in the 30
th minute to make it 4-0.
The 2
nd half was a very similar situation as the first. UIS scored three more times to break the game wide open.
The Hawks will return home on Friday, October 14
th as they host William Jewell College at 7:30 p.m.
