Hawks Use Balanced Attack to Overpower Panthers

QUINCY, Ill. – Behind a balanced offensive attack that included a season high 112 yards rushing for Tremayne Lee, the Hawks collected a big 46-9 win over the Kentucky Wesleyan College Panthers.

The Hawks got on the board first thanks to their defense with the Panthers pinned against their own goal line and recorded a safety to make it 2-0. Quincy got the ball back and went 53 yards in 11 plays to make it a 9-0 contest early in the 2nd quarter. Jalen Griffin capped off the drive with a one yard run up the middle.

After the Panthers kicked a field goal to make it 9-3, the Hawks found the end zone once more as Tionne Harris found AJ Hardin down the sideline for a 29 yard TD pass. QU would score two more times before the end of the 3rd quarter. Drew Lenzen made a 25 yard field goal to extend the lead to 19-3. The Hawk defense came through for points once again as Jackson Connell intercepted Wiley Cain's pass and returned it 72 yards to the house.

The fourth quarter saw the Hawks score 21 more points. Lee scored from a yard out to make it 32-3 Hawks. After KWC made it 32-9, Harris fired a strike to Angel Ruiz for the 8 yard TD pass to make it 39-9. Stefan Robertson capped off the scoring with a 3 yard run up the middle for the touchdown.
