Player of the Week
Sophomore Linebacker
Ray Lingard was recognized by the Midwest Sprint Football League for his performance against the Fontbonne Griffons last week. Lingard was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
He registered a team high 11 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks. Lingard also forced and recovered a fumble.
Scouting the Hawks
The Hawks are coming off of a convincing win at home against the Fontbonne University Griffons by the score of 35-6. Quarterback
Taylor Klusmeyer went 17 of 32 for 275 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Exavior Hinton was his top target with 7 catches for 184 yards and one touchdown.
The special teams unit blocked a punt for a second straight week that led to points, this time a safety in the first quarter.
On the season, Klusmeyer is 46 of 88 for 539 yards and four touchdowns. The Hawk top receiver is
Camden Pye with 27 catches for 258 yards and a touchdown.
Scouting the Eagles
The Midway University Eagles are still looking for their first win of the season as they are 0-5 overall. They are coming off of a 49-31 loss against the Bellarmine Knights. In a game where it was only a 6 point margin at the half, saw Midway get outscored 27-15 in the 2
nd half.
DJ Palmer completed 8 of 14 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Kaden Parraz ran the ball for 73 yards on 8 carries. Ja'shawn Lee caught 2 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.
