QUINCY, IL---The women's basketball team fell 68-59 at home on Tuesday (Jan 4) night in Pepsi Arena.
The Hawks played well and led 15-13 after the first frame, but the Bulldogs outscored QU 19-12 in the second quarter and controlled a halftime lead.
Truman State poured on 21 points in the third quarter, while they limited QU to 13 points in the frame. Truman controlled the fourth quarter despite QU outsourcing Truman 19-15 in the final frame.
All-American Hannah Belanger led Truman with 25 points while she made four 3-pointers.
Sarah Nelson paced the Hawks with 15 points while
Maddie Spagnola added 14 points, eight boards and added four assists. Spagnola has 28 assists compared to just four turnovers on the season as she made her first start of the year tonight.
QU went 4-24 from 3-point range during the contest, but had a great night at the foul line. QU knocked down 15-18 foul shots as Spagnola and
Dami Adeyinka each went 6-6 from the foul line.
