2019-2020: Nelson appeared in 27 games and played a total of 238 minutes. Nelson made 25 field goals on 58 shots. Went 24 for 36 at the foul line for a .667 free throw percentage. Scored 74 points and averaged 2.7 per game. Grabbed 51 rebounds for an average of 1.9 per game.Â

Nelson is from Quincy, IL and is a Biological Science (Pre-Medical Sciences) major at Quincy University. Nelson is the daughter of Rich and Kathy, and has one sister Liz (16). Nelson's mother Kathy and aunt April both attended QU. Nelson graduated from Quincy High School with a 4.46 GPA. She played in the Blue Devils program under the direction of Martin Pazanin. Nelson amassed many academic awards for her stellar performance in the classroom: Nation Honors Society, Illinois State Scholar, Society for Academic Achievement, Western Big 6 All Conference Girls Basketball Scholastic Team, 2 time Scholar Athlete Award, and IHSA Scholastic Achievement Award. Nelson also accomplished community service as a Beta Club member. Nelson made multiple all-tournament teams with the Blue Devils at the Lady Panther Classic (2X), Lady Hornet Classic, and at the Gurnee Warren Tournament. Nelson notched a game-high 27 points in 2018 versus Oswego for Quincy High.

I chose QU because it was close to home and it allowed me to study a challenging major while also playing college basketball.
