QUINCY, IL---The Quincy University women's basketball team fell 75-63 on Thursday (Jan 6) night at Pepsi Arena. 

Marta Rivera knocked down a 3-pointer with 4:13 left in the in first quarter and QU took a 13-10 lead. The Bearcats finished the first quarter with a 9-2 run and led 19-15 after the first quarter. 

Dami Adeyinka had fast break layup to bring QU within two points at 23-21 with 6:27 left in the second quarter, but SBU closed the half with a 14-4 run and took a 12-point 37-25 halftime lead. 

Quincy was even with SBU in the column in the third and fourth quarter but the late first half run proved to be too much. 

Beth Matas Martin lead QU with 15 points in her first game back from Christmas break, while Dami Adeyinka added 13 points and Regan Loconte also notched double figures with 11 points. 

QU outscored SBU 34-24 in the paint, and forced Southwest Baptist to turn the ball over 19 times which led to 13 QU points. 

QU matched a season-best with 11 offensive rebounds tonight, but was also tagged with a season-high 20 personal fouls in a game that saw 40 total fouls. QU also had 10 steals in the game, which is the second best in a single game this season (had 13 against Hannibal-LaGrange). Quincy's 63 points is the most they've scored in GLVC play so far this season, and despite shooting just 4-17 (24%) from 3-point range QU was able to score 13 points at the foul line tonight.
