QUINCY, IL---The Quincy University men's volleyball team triumphed 3-0 over William Penn University Statesmen in a matchup at Pepsi Arena on Friday (Jan 21) evening.

1st Set
After taking an early lead on errors, the Hawks managed three consecutive kills courtesy of Nathan Lawton. The lead continued to hold from there, taking advantage of many errors by the Statesmen to take the set 25-18.

2nd Set
While the error situation from the first set became reversed in the second, the Hawks more than made up for it by being dominant with kills. Roman Deryckère landed the first two of the set, with Lawton making five throughout, as the Hawks once again took the set, with a final score of 25-20.

3rd Set
The final set of the game was more balanced overall, but once again, the Statesmen made more errors than the Hawks. Lawton made the first kill, his first of three, and a service ace of Bryce Jones was undoubtedly the highlight of the game. The Hawks took the set 25-19, and the game 3-0.

Nathan Lawton led the Hawks with 13 points with 13 kills, with Manuel Hernandez scoring 7.5 points with 5 kills and Cooper Coleman scoring 7 points with 3 kills.
