UNIVERSITY CENTER, MI. – The Quincy University women's soccer team were defeated this afternoon (Sep. 7) at Saginaw Valley State University by the score of 2-1.
The Cardinals got on the board early after scoring in the 13th minute. Quincy needed just ten minutes to even things up when Lauren Crane scored on a cross from the left side by Morgan Evans in the 23rd minute.
Going into the break, the game was tied at 1-1. However, the Cardinals got back on the board quickly with a goal in the 54th minute. QU had some chances late in the 71st, 75th, and 85th minute when Alaina Nasello, Samaris Alvardo, and Maddie Connors each put strikes on goal.
SVSU kept the pressure on the Hawk defense for most of the game and rattled off 24 shots. Yet, only six of those shots were on goal. Olivia Kindt and Luisa Weinhaendler combined for three saves in net, and the Hawk back line allowed one shot on goal in the second half.

The Hawks will play their first home match of the regular season on Sunday (Sept. 12) against the Miners of Missouri S&T. Kickoff is set for noon.
