Women's Soccer Blanked By UMSL

ST. LOUIS, MO. - The Quincy University women's soccer team wrapped up their St. Louis road trip on Sunday (Sept. 26) with a GLVC matchup against Missouri-St. Louis. The Hawks were shut out and dealt a 1-0 defeat despite outshooting the Tritons 13-10. 

The lone goal of the game was scored by UMSL in the 22nd minute on the first shot by either team. The Tritons later sent another shot on goal in the 31st minute, but Olivia Kindt made the save. 

Alaina Nasello got QU's first shot off in the 35th minute, and that was followed by a shot on goal by Lauren Crane in the 39th minute. UMSL's keeper made the save to keep the Hawks off the board. Nasello got another shot on goal before halftime in the 42nd minute, but Quincy trailed 1-0 at the half. 

The Tritons kept the pressure on in the second half. UMSL sent out six shots to Quincy's two in the first 20 minutes of the second period. QU had two late chances to equalize as Nasello ripped a shot on frame in the 84th minute and Jessica Felx missed a shot wide right in the 89th minute. 

Ultimately, Quincy was shutout, 1-0.
