Women's Soccer Held Scoreless By Lions

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University women's soccer team hosted the Lindenwood Lions on Friday night (Sept. 17) and fell by a final score of 1-0.

Both teams met again after playing each other in the GLVC Tournament last spring. That game also resulted in a 1-0 final score, but the Hawks came out victorious.

The tables were turned in tonight's game as the Lions were able to get on the board early. Lindenwood scored in the 12th minute on a ball sent in off a corner kick.

Quincy was held in check for most of the first half as they got just two shots off. After halftime, QU turned up the heat and outshot LU, 7-3.

Jessica Felix put a shot towards the net in the 54th minute, but it was saved. Then, two minutes later, Quincy had a prime chance to tie the game when Lexi Porchia and Emma Vaughn each collected a loose ball in the box. Lindenwood's defenders were in the right place at the right time as back-to-back team saves were recorded.

In the 68th minute, Emily LeBlanc put a good strike on net, but Lindenwood's keep laid out with full extension to make the save.

This was Quincy's final shot on goal as they dropped the GLVC contest, 1-0.
